Chai! Dis one na deep tin! When US President Donald Trump recently ordered the Department of Defence to prepare for "possible action" in Nigeria and warned Abuja to stop the “killing of Christians,” the Nigerian federal government quickly hit back, insisting that insecurity affects everyone. 🀦‍♂️

Throwback! πŸ“Έ Babachir Lawal Reveals: Tinubu, APC Were the Original Whistleblowers on Christian Killings in πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

But wait for the gbas gbos from former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal!

Lawal, speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, delivered a massive throwback bombshell that changes the entire political narrative. He claimed that Trump’s remarks are not new at all, because the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership, including President Bola Tinubu himself, were the very first people to alert the US government years ago about the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria! E choke!

The Original Lobbying Team

Lawal recalled the period during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan when the APC was in opposition. He revealed that a high-profile delegation, which included the current President (Tinubu), former President Buhari, and Rotimi Amaechi, traveled to the United States to lobby the Obama administration.

"Trump might be right or not but recall that there was a delegation that first went to the United States to tell, I think Obama then, that Christians were being slaughtered in Nigeria," Lawal asserted. "It included this man, the president (Tinubu), that APC delegation. I saw the picture: Buhari was there, Amaechi was there." He specifically added that Tinubu was even sitting close to the US President when they went to push the claims that the Jonathan government was carrying out genocide in Nigeria.

The Real Wahala Now

Lawal quickly pivoted from the political wahala of the past to the security crisis of the present. He stressed that regardless of who lobbied whom, the core issue for every Nigerian remains the same.

"Forget about genocide or no genocide in Nigeria," he insisted. "The issue is that the government must guarantee the security of our lives and property. That’s all we want from government." Lawal did not mince words, concluding that the Tinubu administration has simply not demonstrated the necessary capacity to address the country’s crippling security challenges and the ever-present religious tensions. For many Nigerians, the government's responsibility remains simple: keep us safe! πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬
