Tragedy struck Omoku community in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) of Rivers State on Tuesday, as unknown gunmen opened fire on residents, killing at least four people.
According to community reports, the victims include the Omoku Zone Commander of the ONELGA Security and Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC), identified as Comrade Ozoemela Stephen Wokocha, along with three women. Eyewitness accounts describe scenes of panic as traders shut their shops and residents fled for safety when the assailants opened fire. The attackers reportedly made away with the body of the slain commander.
